November Report

We are now a solid two months into the school year. Parent conferences are looming ahead next week, Grandparents Day and Thanksgiving are soon to follow, and before we know it we will be enjoying our families and friends over Christmas break and stepping into the year 2020. These last two months have been packed full of much learning and growth, and we are excited about the progress all of us have made.

The teachers have completed baseline assessments on all of their students, they are deep into curricular material, routines and systems have been established, and the garden and grounds have been put to bed for the winter. Everyone is looking forward to new units and furthering the learning experience. As the Executive Director I have submitted our 2018-2019 annual report and 2019-2020 school improvement plan to the Molalla River School District and Oregon Department of Education. I’m currently preparing for our community Student Success Act meeting with parents, staff and board members this Monday night at 6:30.

Next week is parent/teacher conferences, and the near halfway mark of our first term. Teachers have spent the last few weeks getting to know your students as learners, and as social and emotional young people. They are excited to hear more from you about your students, and to share their experiences with them so far. Please make sure you sign up for conferences, I know that the time slots are getting limited, and we really want to talk with all of you.

Please know, my door is always open, and I welcome the opportunity to talk with you at any time.
