Alders Picking Pitches

This year is all about melody in Alder music: Using pitched percussion and strings, Alders explore all aspects of melody. Students draw comparisons between the organization systems of pitches on different instruments and contrast the notational systems of ancient and modern eras. We ask: What makes a good melody? How can we compose our own melodies? Most importantly, we play! Here, Alders are learning to pick melodies on the guitar using the tablature notational system.
